Hi Odie21,
that's the problem. The total memory does not seem to be 16MB.
Like I explained in my previous post I do expect the "real" storage to be around 10% less than what is advertised. This is…
No it doesn't. As per screen shots above, only one person has 16MB. Rest of us have total 8MB disk space (both full and available).
You don't understand because you use it for 1 hour of cycling at a time and then download whatever on to your computer. If someone is going to be in the field for days on end, tracking multiple dogs, hrm…
If your needs are so big, then you will not benefit from either 8MB or 16MB, and in this case, Instinct is just not for you!
Apparently. Everything else about it is exactly what I need. Too bad the memory is the size of one of those musical greeting cards. In a day in age where 32MB class 10 memory is 4 bucks, this seems like a stupid design decision on their part.
32GB card cost 4 bucks! 32MB card can no longer be purchased
Maybe it's not very smart what Garmin did with the Instinct, but all the technical specifications of all Garmin devices are available online, so nobody can accuse them of being misled.
I'm sure that Instinct truly has 16MB of space, but 8MB is used for some system data.
In any time you could decide and buy more expensive device that even has 16GB (or more) space. For instance, I use Descent MK1 in addition to Instinct.
