Default watch face -symbol meaning

On the default watch face setting, what is the symbol in the lower left...next to the battery bar? Looks like half of a gear, with arrow head on top and a time next to it.

the manual doesn’t have anything illustrating the watch symbols, nor meanings of the different displays. Same are fairly obvious, while some are not.

I think that's sunrise/sunset.

Well it’s now 9 months later and there is still no guide to all the symbols on the watch face! Come on!

Yep. While the hour I spent searching for this information wasn't wasted (I found a bunch of other useful info) - finding an overview pic that lays out what things are on the main screens would have been nice. Now that I know it's sunrise/sunset I get it, but that little icon just doesn't have enough pixels to convey that intuitively (I thought it was a little person lifting weights...)

Garmin, if you're reading - looks like a lot of people could use a faq, with some pictures.
