Solar Instinct Crashing randomly

When trying to start an activity, the watch just crashes. Also noticed that it was crashing everytime i would get a notification from my phone. Turned smart notifications off, seemed to help  for a day then just started crashing at random times.

Have already done full resets and software updates...

  • Hello.

For a month, my instinct solar (fw 18.54) randomisés powers off, but sometime it’s not random. When i want to start an activity, especially with Treadmill Running.

One month with such bugs it’s kinda long.

Let me add that i have made a reboot, a reset and a factors reset without succes.

I hope it will be better with a new update.

  • I am sorry you have an issue. For your specific issue, you will need to warranty replace your watch through Outdoor Product Support in your region.

  • Hello,

    Thanks you for your answer.

Actually, when i go to the webpage you gave me, i can't find any form or call number.

On an other page i find 0033155693399 as possible number. Is this one good for me in France ?

  • I am sorry it is not showing properly. Here is the contact information for calling and their operating hours:

  • I sent my Instinct Solar to the service center and Garmin gave me a replacement watch. However... I'm still having the same issue. It still randomly crashed during activity and even when the watch alarms to indicate abnormal heart beat! :(

  • I am sorry you continue to have issues. I have sent you a Private Message.

  • I had this same issue with my Garmin Solar Instinct which I bought for $500 2 years ago. Almost a year later it would start crashing and randomly shutting down, usually in the middle of activities. And the battery would rapidly jump from full to empty. When I brought it to my Garmin servicing centre, they failed to repair it and gave me a replacement.

Now, 1 year later, the replacement Solar Instinct just started exhibiting the same initial signs again (it suddenly died during a run - i had 9 days of battery left). Both watches worked perfectly until they suddenly didn't. I did a hard reset and my firmware version is at 18.11. I have disabled auto software updates. I am not keen to have this watch replaced as well - it's only been a year, and my warranty would not cover it any longer.  Any advice at all is appreciated.

  • Same dam issue!!!! Unbelievable i am so disappointed

  • Turn off all the VIBRATE  functions in your watch:

    MENU button ( long press)

ABC button to SETTINGS  : GPS button to enter menu

ABC button to system : GPS button to enter menu

ABC button to SOUNDS : GPS button to enter menu

    TURN OFF VIBRATE

Also in the widgets TIME - ALARM  set  the VIBRATE  function off.

Please give me feedback if it's working or not.  TNX
