Is "Retrieving Tide Data" still not working for the Instinct Solar Surf edition??

I bought my watch a week ago and I really like it. The only problem so far is that the watch face that shows the tide keeps giving me a "Retrieving Tide Data" message and I can't seem to fix it. At one point it was working but the message is back again and I can't get the tide to display.

Is this a frequent occurrence? I've seen other threads with similar issues but nothing that looks like a solution.

  • Hey mate, I'm based in Christchurch and having a similar issue. My default tide was saying I'm in Jackson Bay, Westland. Garmin replaced the unit, but the new one has the same issue. Definitely a software bug on garmin end, where they resolve the tide and location data for NZ spots. It used to work, then there was an update before xmas 2022 and it stopped working...

  • Hey there, this problem was sorted after firmware updating via cable through the PC. I have software version 19.01 and it is working fine. Cheers
