After 20.0 update battery life is terrible. It’s the same as after upgrade 15.00.

Yes, watch faces are from Connect IQ.
The problem is in HR update. It’s still updating.
1. Yes, 3rd party
2. Yes, without custom watch faces it runs much smoother and longer
1. The watch face I use is from Connect IQ.
2. Uninstalling and using a stock face put me at 10% usage in a day, so closer to normal.
I updated Display: 3.30(!) to Display: 3.40, using Beta 20.0 installation files and my watch started working as usual with third party watchfaces. Battery consumption went back to 0.2%-0.4% per hour without any GPS activities. For me the problem is solved.
No 3rd party wface in my fenix5
I notice high battery consumption with v20.0.
Now i have 11-12%/day from 7-8% in watch mode.
Yesterday i went for a 7 hours trail walk in a forest mountain. From 82% at start goes to 33% at the end.
Only with gps ,, internal garmin stuff, spend almost 50%
I bought fenix5 for 24hours ultras and long walks.
I had the same problem like 15.10ver
19,10 ver was more efficient and more stable
No CIQ apps on my watch.
My main problem is with gps. Gps, gps/glonos, gps galileo, doesn’t matter it’s all about 10% battery usage per hour. This should be 5%
(on my forerunner 935, but with firmware 20. Alhtough high battery usage with gps is since version 13 or so)
daily battery usage with bluetooth notifications is also high, but I guess I won’t notice since I use gps a lot, during training.
Try what I did(update Display v.3.30(!) to Display v.3.40 from Beta 20.0 files) and let me know if it works for you. It did for me.
What are steps to upgrade display to 3.40?
Follow the link : https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=11665
Then download and unzip the files. And follow the instructions from instruction 4. - "4.If there is a Display_v*** folder, place the gupXXXX.gcd file into the \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device. Please note, not all Beta releases will include an update."
Actually there is folder Display_v340 and the file in it is GUP2605.GCD which you have to copy in \GARMIN\REMOTESW folder of the device. It worked for me. After you copy the file and unplug the device from the computer you should follow the instructions of your watch to update the software, which will take less than a minute. Then cold restart your watch to reestablish connection with your Garmin Connect app and it's done.
After using for a few days now, my 5X loses about 5%per day without 3rd party faces. Best ever.
