After 20.0 update battery life is terrible. It’s the same as after upgrade 15.00.

If this refers to me, I am talking about fenix 5s plus and 12.0 is currently up to date. Specificaly version f2c9b7f
Aha, sorry I misread it is plus.
Then you are anyway in wrong forum, here we discuss drain for 5 series, software 20.0. Your section would be here:

Thank you, you r right
I am switching there right away
Cheers!
My Fenix 5X started draining from 100% down to between 5-15% in a single day. With no GPS or app usage. Just the usual steps and wrist heart rate I've been using since I got it.
I have always selectively upgraded because of battery life issues (which affects every Garmin I've ever owned Vivosmart/Vivoactive Hr/Vivoactive 3). Up to V19 my typical usage was around 0.35% per hour which related to around 10 - 11 days between charges.
I mistakenly allowed an auto update to V20 at which point battery usage lept to 0.6% per hour. I downgraded back to V19 and while better it was still around 0.5% which relates to around 7-8 days between charges, suggesting there was something else that updated at the same time rather than just the base software.
I have since installed the latest Beta. It's early day yet but it is currently running at 0.28% per hour. I'm sticking with this for a while.
HTH someone.
I also have beta 20.71, the consumption is slightly higher than 20.00, but still ok, need to test it further.
Strange how battery life varies for users.
It seems to be a common theme amongst Garmin watches though. They recently replaced my Vivoactive 3 even though it was 3 years old and well out of warranty due to battery life. That went from it's expected 5 days between charges to lasting less than 24 hours. Going by the forum here I wasn't the only one that suffered that sort of sudden dedregation even though others had no issue at all.
Although they have never admitted it there must have been something wrong for them to replace a three year old watch, and I never even table banged, they offered when I emailed them.
On the whole the Fenix 5 has been good for me though barring V20. This latest beta seems to have fixed my problem though.
At least with the Fenix one gets a choice on whether to upgrade the firmware. With the Vivoactive it's a forced upgrade with no way (that I know of) to downgrade.
I thought I'd give the beta software a go to see if that helps my 5s.
I've downloaded the update and followed the instructions - but it's just not happening. I move all the files from the unzipped folder to the correct place on my watch (as per the Garmin instructions). When i go and try and find the update in the watch, there is nothing there. When i plug the watch back in the files I transferred a minute ago are now not there. I've tried this a few times now but nothing seems to help. Am I missing a step?
Plug in watch
Copy files to correct location
Unplug watch
Go to Settings > System > Software Update
Nothing there?
thanks, Steve
Steve, the steps you described are correct. Normally you do not have to go to menu - Software update, because update offers right after unplugging and booting the watch.
Based on experience, please check once more the location where you put GUPDATE.GCD (and all the other files just to be sure), I first did the mistake that I put it to root (watch disc isalso called Garmin), you need to go further down to folder garmin.
I have F935, have had the same issue post V20.00
1) Yes, Fusion Watchface from connect-IQ
2) Not yet. I power off and on the issue is resolved till the next recharge.
Thanks
