I did many battery cycles (I've lost the count) with firmware 19 and still horrible battery issues.
Before 19 firmware and 15 firmware it was taking a week before a discharge with normal clock usage, now in two days is off.
is it possible to downgrade firmware without any problem? it will get the longer duration again?
Hi, jmpxupi I ran several tests and i came to a conclusion there is an unstability.
With Garmin watchface, and everything else off it oscilates between 0.16 and 0.3% / hour
With Garmin watchface, Activity Tracking and HR on it draws 0.25 to 0.4 / hour
With Garmin Watchface, Activity, HR and BT on it draws 0.3 to 0.6 / hour
I remember with the v14 and Garmin Watchface only and all else off it was 0.1% during the whole day. And it is not matter of battery wearing out, i just charged 5x since v14.
I accept that condition considering i only use the watch as a trekking device, but for those who use it on the daily basis there is a significant diference, but acceptable for some though.
Cheers
Hi guys,
In order to get a better picture it would be nice always to specify model and watch's age.
Batteries performance vary a lot along the time.
Regards,
Ok, i posted that previously. Its a F5x, 1y7m old. I gave 27 charges total (i count, believe me).
Cheers
Fenix 5x 2y 8m old.
At this time i don't believe we can blame solely 19th firmware by itself.
I'm on 19.10.0.0 and I don't have any issue with battery drain. Actually I have never had...
Regards,
Are your results similar to mine?
In my case a F5 woth 2 years.
But i can assure it is not cause of the watch and battery age.
A few months ago with previous firmwares battery was working better
Hi, I mention this here already... as you, my Fenix 5X never had any issue with battery
On my wrist since January 2018, never had any kind of battery drain. I doubt it will be FW problems, I am more convinced the cause is some widgets or programs running in the background... just my humble opinion
Hi, mine fenix 5 is around 18mo old and currently on v19.10.
Was 100% 36 hrs ago, dropped to around 93% overnight (watch only), dropped to 83% after a 90 min run (with GPS) and then dropped gradually through yesterday (watch only) to around 80%. Overnight (watch only) then dropped to 4% in 8 hrs!! Similar on previous occasions - have done factory reset, but no improvement. Come on Garmin!!
