Has anyone been able to get a low stress score? I have been using this product for awhile. And even on my laziest days, I cant score below 50 ish and it still says I am high stress.

Thoughts?

    And it quit working again...
  • Hello,

I am also affected by this "extremely high stress" bug. I assume it's a bug because it's just not possible that this is accurate. For months my readings look like in this image. High stress the whole night and hardly any rest during the day.

Did anybody get any (useful) answers from Garmin support about this?

  • Also had to do a master rest, after updating my watch and the stress levels trend were always on the high side even when sleeping and just sitting during the day. The reset seems to have cleared the issue and levels are back to normal for now.
  • Does a master reset help permanently? From the entries on this forum it sounds like it functions normally for just a short period and then the stress levels are back to being extremely high all the time.

I just purchased Fenix 5s and I do not have a stress score widget. Are only selected Fenixes have it?

I posted quite about this in the other thread about stress.

What I have found is that your stress scores will be very high if you:

    - drink any alcohol at all (even a glass of wine with dinner)
    - drink much caffiene
    - never have rest days and never stop working out

So if you take a few days without working out, just relaxing and doing nothing, don't drink any alchol or coffee (needless to say, don't smoke, but I'm guessing you don't smoke!) and see what happens then. My guess is your stress level will drop considerably.

I get the most "bang for my buck" lowering the day's stress score when asleep. Even if my stress levels are relatively high during the day, as long as it's all blue during the night, it will average out pretty low. So the trick is getting good quality sleep, which means no booze, no coffee, no late workouts and don't sleep too little.

Make sure your watch is paired to your phone and you have downloaded the Garmin Connect App. Then look on the Garmin Connect App on your mobile phone.

My stress was high during sleep aswell and i couldnt figure out why... Thought it was a blunt tool. But stopped having caffeine and my stress levels are a lot better. blue when sleeping for example!
  • HRV values, when numerically low, represent elevated sympathetic nervous system activity. IOW, a low HRV # represents MORE STRESS, NOT LESS. Garmin manual has it wrong!
