Has anyone been able to get a low stress score? I have been using this product for awhile. And even on my laziest days, I cant score below 50 ish and it still says I am high stress.

Thoughts?

Food and alcohol make mine go up. Makes sense since it uses HRV to calculate stress and my heart rate goes up when I'm digesting stuff.

I eat a lot of protein and it has a ~25% TEF, same goes for alcohol. There's a clear correlation between increased HR (by extension, HRV) and my stress score.
  • I can't see anything useful about this widget for me.
Yesterday I had it showing 1 minute rest, after eight hours sleep.
With no change to my routine the day before showed 5.3 hours rest and eight hours sleep ....and so on the further back I look.
I can't see any useful pattern for me to lock onto and deem part of my fitness regime.
Infact Its only effect is to give me a higher stress level worring about my high and low random stress scores......am I severely ill?,.....or is the widget not working? :-)
I uninstalled it and my stress went away!
    Happy days! :-)
  • And I thought I was the only high stressed one.
I even manage to get over 45-50 when relaxing on my recliner, drinking tea and reading a book. I only get under 25 when sleeping or laying in bed in general (provided dinner doesn't include burgers and t-bones :p )

Relaxing routines on the watch do work, but breathing exercises in public are awkward.

I removed the widget after a week of looking at it.
  • Works fine for me - if I have not been drinking or exercising and am healthy I get a score of "rest" (below 25) when sleeping or sitting very still.

After exercise my HRV goes up and I see higher readings (often 80+ even when just doing normal day to day stuff).

When I see higher HR and a high stress score but have not been drinking, exercising it seems to be a good indicator of the onset of illness and I'll end up with a cold or some other ailment a day or two later. I've used it to avoid pushing too hard and the gym and seem to have had better health this winter, could be the placebo effect I guess!
  • Hi everybody !!

I've been using my fenix 5s for 1 month now and my stress scores are always high even when I'm sleeping, It is possible the widget should be calibrated like the altimeter and barometer ?.

    Regards.

wow pretty awkward, that isn't doing it's job well. i recommend rebooting the watch, maybe that helps
  • Heads up: Fenix 5S/5 - 7.56 Public Beta change log has the following:
    • Improved the accuracy of All-Day Stress tracking.
Advanced heartbeat analysis by Firstbeat (from Jyväskylä, Finland :) ) ETE was updated from 5.3.3.7 (which came with 7.54) to 5.3.3.11. Let's see whether there is any improvement...

Don’t expect too much from Garmin, if they fixed stress accuracy I give you 99% something has been broken elsewhere :)
Stress score never worked for me correctly and it is dependent on the HR readings, so people who wearing watch loose during non sport period will get weird readings ;)
  • Just an FYI, after a reset to defaults, my stress score has gone down to more "normal levels".
Stress during sleep has gone from ~25 to ~5...

Attached two screenshots of what a recent day of mine looked like, 7h 35min of high stress, an overall score of 67 (with only 28 minutes of rest). The rest balance for that day is 64%, which is borderline average??? That can't be right?

Overall stress level of the past two months is avg 54, stdev: 8, min: 38, max: 67.

My readings do match my activity, a fun conversation will reduce stress, meeting my supervisor will push the levels to the max :)ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1296486.png

I too am showing higher stress levels than I would expect. Sleep is seldom in the Rest range. I am unsure how long my Forerunner 935 has had the latest update. Maybe I will try resetting everything and see. Garmin, is there any way to validate the readings?
