I'm currently on beta 10.55 and would like to upgrade to the public release 11.00 once it's 100% rolled out. Is that an option that will show up automatically on my watch or in Garmin express or do I need to take some other action? I'd like to avoid losing all my settings if possible but the only info I found said if you roll back to an older release things will be reset. Any help on this? Thanks
You have to downgrade using a special backdate final firmware wich is inside the beta packages. Actual you have to use for this the beta 10.58, because in beta 11 package there is no backdate firmware included.
Donwload this and follow the steps in the post from link above...
Some of your settings will be lost - there is no way around this. But this was clear when you had read the beta-firmware descriptions before... Some of your datas can be backuped and restored by copying files.
Some other users said there can be more folders (like MLTSPORT and APPS) be restored - but this is not officialy approved by garmin - so try it on your own.
He is asking to update from 10.55 to 11.00 - so NO downgrade! And so also NO risk to loose any setting.
@%Garvmin% If you have set up your F5 for automatic update - no action needed - will updated in the next day(s). If youre in "hurry" - try to connect to a PC and run GE - probably the updated will run immediately. And again - due it's an updated - no setting will change.
Patience:) Until the phased rollout reaches you, Express will sincerely believe that 10.00 is the most recent release available for your watch, and tell you so, even if you've installed a beta firmware which is newer than that.
