  • Maybe it was in the last beta thread, but someone had mentioned deep sleep being very low. Had that last night with a comical 2 minutes. I was dead last night too, never heard my wife come in, didn't wake up at all until 9 hours later.

Fcasoli, is that with this beta FW? I'm only down 4% about 20 hours after installing.

Also, notifications are showing up on the watch simultaneously with the phone. Usually there would be a delay of a second or two, no delay now.

Yes with this and 9.20 firmware, calendar only and SMS, I disabled today all notifications, I think better, I check some hours again...

after disabling notifications, the average consumption is 1% per hour, the fenix is 4 days old, battery was 0% when I opened the box, maybe I must perform some complete charging cycles... I do not know...

I charged my F5 to 98% on Thursday, and have recorded one 1 hour activity since then (family crisis going on, no time for leisure, I should have a few more than this). I had notifications on for 2 days out of 4 before I was annoyed and turned them all off. Now it is Sunday afternoon and after playing with the F5 a lot, I am at 81%. Roughly 5% per day I am getting.

Other settings: I have Glonas off, backlight at default brightness, no custom faces or widgets yet (Beta is stopping me from getting most), watch rarely vibrates. I don't have gesture backlight on.

My new 55 (I swapped out an F5S, it was too small), had sat on the shelf so long, the software was still at 2.0. I was afraid the battery would be damaged from a complete discharge, which can happen with LiON batteries, but it appears OK.

I would power down your watch, and set it in to charge overnight for several hours (it will turn back on when charging, but you want a fresh start). It may be mis-detecting a full 100% charge. It should take almost 2 hours if starting art 0%. If it continues to discharge too fast, factory reset the watch, try again. If still having problems, the LiON battery may have been damaged from the full discharge and the watch needs servicing.

Normal things that ruin LiON batteries:
    1. Storing too hot, like in a hot car in the summer. This causes a hard self-discharge and battery capacity will forever suffer this event.
    2. Storing a long time at 0% capacity. The lithium plate gets so thin that it literally falls apart and it will not rebuild itself during a recharge. Again, you loose a lot of capacity.
    3. Over-discharging rate. Unless there is a severe hardware flaw, you don't have to worry about this.

Besides this problem, there may simply be a hardware problem on the watch, and you will need to return it for a replacement.

Thanks Mark, very helpful, I suppose the battery is defective, stranger be 0 charge new, I wrote to customer service Garmin and to my seller, I hope to have a replacement complete and not of the battery only, I do not sopport to have a refurbished device!

It is certainly not normal. My new Fenix 5 came with firmware 7.70 (not to old) and 54% charged. Charged it one I got it and then ran the battery to 24% with about 9 hours of activity tracking, constant fiddling and syncing (trying al settings). Really impressed by the battery performance. Charged it because I had a long event (4 hour plus) the next day.

How about fixing the hazard problem in the golf app?

Golf course hazards not showing on Fenix 5 version 9.20
  • I am experiencing the same problem since a week. I even do not get out, but turn a lot during my sleep, when I am back at rest more, that will become my start point, usually around 1.30-2.30.

    advance sleep is not good..

Please, please PLEASE, F'in Please ADD camera selfie button support to iPhone. Just like there is a widget for music, there has to be a widget for Camera just like many less expensive watches which is a basic feature now days. WTF, we went from software 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 with this feature still missing.

  • is it only me who cant rearrange widgets from mobile og PC. Have to do it manaly on watch
