Hi, since some time, no tracks has turn-by-turn notifications, even the tracks, who previously had (actually all had, except the ones run in the opposite directions). Now I am seeing only kms to finish...
I got a response for Garmin, that the "use map" setting is the official solution to the problem... I don't get it, it worked so well before and now it was broken....
That sucks wojtek_b. I tried contacting UK support about the problem but didn't get very far. They told me to sync with Garmin Express and if that doesn't work to reset my Fenix 5X.
I'm still hoping that what Sam201176 was told when he phoned them is the case and that they are aware of the software problems and will rectify them.
I haven't received anymore information at the moment, also my last emails a week ago,have not been replied to yet. I'll ring product support again on Monday and see if I can get any more information. I would love to see a " Garmin Joey" post in this thread if he sees it....to reassure us all its being taken care of :--)
Hi, I contacted French support yesterday. they told me there was a note about the Turn By Turn bug. He did not tell me that the use of "use map" was the official solution. In any case they were well aware of the problem. He offered me if I wanted to participate in helping to identify the bug by answering a questionnaire and sending him a copy of the disc of my Fenix 5X (after removing all the very heavy map file and compressing it in .rar or .zip) They also told me that it could take a lot of time and will probably be updated in the future, but certainly not for now. My opinion: the situation is not blocked, but we must continue to put pressure on them by calling all the support to raise cases.

What mapping you are using on this device?I am using openstreetmap (http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/) maps. But I have tried it with other maps too.
The exact route you are following. I have tired for more then one routes. TBT did not work for neither of them, when using routing option "follow course". When using routing option "use map", that TBT works, but my course always gets rerouted!
What software version your device is on? v8.00
Did you generate this route on the device? No, I do generate routes on Garmin Connect.
actually, there is a workaround, as the problem obviously lies somewhere in garmin connect and importing the course to the watch. Using hints from another thread I manage to create a course with turn notifications and upload it using cable as fit file to the watch. And it works as it worked before.
Hi wojtek_b, Could you explain exactly how you create this .fit file and how do you import it into the watch? Could you give us a little tutorial ? ;) It could be a solution, waiting for Garmin to find his own, for all those who are annoyed by the loss of the Turn-By-Turn.

As Helisud requests, it would be great to know this work around if you have the time to detail the steps. I’d only just sorted out TBT for Garmin to screw it up, and rather irritatingly it’s the main reason I upgraded to the 5x (TBT with mapping), but stupidly sold my old 3...). I’d love to know how this works.
