Digging up an old thread....I have noticed that Zwift rides show up on the watch but my Trainer Road rides do not. Anybody know a fix for this? They both show up on the Garmin Connect but only one counts on the watch.
I log my road rides because my Edge 500 correctly calculates Total Ascent and the Fenix 5 does not accurately calculate toal ascent. The Fenix 5 sees the altitude correctly but discards the first few meters of every climb and ignores small climbs of up to 5m from my testing.
Yep, you're missing something. Specifically Physio True-Up, which will bring metrics for both devices together through Garmin Connect. Details at https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=EjPECQK58qA0xzJ5X74vm7
There are a couple of other possible workarounds as well that avoid having to delete duplicate workouts:
* Record on both devices, but Discard rather than Saving on the Edge at the end of a workout.
* Record on both devices, but have the Edge syncing to a different Garmin Connect account
* Use the Fenix as the primary recording device, but use the Extended Display functionality of newer Edges to display the watch data on your head unit.
Personally, I use Physio True-Up, and get intergrated training stats from both devices.
So do you need to save both workouts, for example for a triathlon? Like on your fenix watch and edge device? Or do you just save your watch and delete your edge?
I don't understand the process either. I don't have 2 devices but using Trainerroad on my phone and it doesn't give any training effect or load. For now I just ignore this feature. Actually it was pretty useless even taking swimming into accounting.
