Are there any happy trouble free f5 owners

Been contemplating one of these for a while...but there seem so so many unhappy people with issues.

currently use an edge1000 trouble free bar one update screwing it up but rolling back solved that although garmin said it was not possible to roll back and that would cause me issues...basically completley wrong there garmin...

anyway...and happy owners....

thanks

For the most part I'm happy with mine. It does what I want it to do and it seems like most issues I've had (not many, just a couple bugs) are related to Garmin Connect or the iOS app and not the watch itself.

Keep in mind that for the most part people that post in a forum like this are going to be those asking for help with problems so it sometimes looks like there are more people with problems than there really are.
  • I got the Sapphire version and it is worth every penny
  • I have no issues with the watch at all. ANT, GPS, everything else work as expected. The only issue I have is related to some back-end problems on Garmin Connect side, not related to the watch.
  • I'm a very happy owner of the 5S. Only Garmin Connect has some problems with my 5S, but it does everything I've tried so far. Has connected to every sensor I have (and I have a lot) and seems to be a great activity tracker. OHR works great for non active things, but I have to use my chest strap HRM's for running/biking/swimming/rowing. I get all the notifications I want. Both bluetooth and wifi works pretty good for me. Elevation matches my Edge bike devices so I'm pretty happy with that.
  • Another happy owner here - it does what I want (I only use about 30% of its functionality), does it well and looks stylish into the bargain.

Your on an internet forum which is going to be mostly people who are having issues with a product. I love my Fenix 5 despite some issues here and there. It crushes anything I have used in its place. Nothing I have tired even comes close. Apple Watch, Suunto, Polar etc etc.

  • I now like mine...I was having major issues with connecting a Garmin HR strap (ant+), was driving me nuts. I now put on the strap before turning on the watch and has been working fine.
  • Best sports watch on the market. Every product has its issues - but this is by far the best sports watch out there. I use it daily for virtually all the sports apps it supports (except SUP, Don't do much of that).

I used to own a Fitbit, and it was barely "splashproof" instead of waterproof, and
when you complain on the Fitbit community website, they delete your complaints and banish you.
Garmin makes a great watch, and they let you complain (likely because it allows them to improve the product even further).
