I can't seem to find what version bluetooth the Fenix 5/S/X have. Anyone have any ideas? I'm trying to figure out if the FR935 has better bluetooth range because it is the newest Garmin watch and maybe it has the newer version of bluetooth compared to the F5 series.
I just realized that my 5 was stuck on 4.10 for BLE/ANT/SNS as well even though I have upgraded to 7.10. I downloaded the 7.54 beta, and instead of coping all of the files to the watch, I only copied the Sensor Hub file to the correct folder. This prompted the update screen once I switched on the watch so now BLE/ANT/SNS is up to date while I’m still on 7.10.
henriksand question is though, were you experiencing ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity issues with external sensors before you upgraded the BLE/ANT/SNS? And, if yes, could you please report back if these issues have been resovled after the said update?
No issues other than shorter than expected Bluetooth range. I have not used other external sensors than a HRM-Tri. The BT range seems the same after the update.
All, if you do not use beta software, your SNS/ANT/BLE version will remain at 4.10 with the 7.10 system software. It is fine to upgrade on your own, but we have not yet released version 5.30 for public and automatic updates. Both versions are certified for public use, but 5.30 is still in beta form.
So, you are saying that me having SNS/ANT/BLE 4.10 is normal/good and it will not resolve my ANT+/BLE issues? 5S
EDIT: about 1.5 hours into testing - wearing Polar H10 strap and 5S. Only saw 1 Disconnected status in the sensor settings right in the beginning. But so far, during about 1,5 hours there has only been 1 very narrow interruption in the stock HRM graph.
All that after installing the BETA update, thus upgrading the SNS/ANT/BLE 4.10 to 5.(something).
