Add Indoor Bike Miles

I use my watch on an indoor cycle trainer using Zwift. From Zwift, I get mileage, but obviously the watch does not receive the distance. Is there any way to add it to my session on the watch?
  • I also miss the training recovery and effort based on Zwift-cycling.

the Zwift miles are totally speculative, it have no meaning at all. Garmin has so much to fix, that I believe they really won't spend time on such things.
And if you want to have training recovery and effort based on Zwift, just wear your watch during training. recovery is based on HR and Power, not on distance. Actually, even distance outdoors is not important at all.
  • Any ideas when this feature might become available? I see in the pool swimming Drill Log that one simply selects the distance when done. Couldn’t something similar be done for indoor biking?

Not sure if speed sensor would work that well with traditional spinner bikes as you don't have gears even though you can measure power adding power pedals. Some more expensive spinner bikes (like wattbike atom) have virtual gears in console based on wheel speed vs resistance so you could record a "flat ride" with power / speed from the ant+ link to your watch (I actually do something similar myself with kettler racer 9 and ergo.ub android app acting as ANT+ hub).

No way of knowing if the distance is accurate though as my VO seems a bit high based on my watts but at least the training load seems to go well in hand with the sessions difficulty and heart rate.

Still like someone said with watts based training only workout duration and average watts should matter to your progress. The distance doesn't really matter and is purely speculative.
  • Hi,

I don't know how to deliver it, my current set up is
    manual trainer
    3rd party ant + USB
    laptop
    Android device
Magene Cadence / speed sensor (hub)
    FR935

Can the ant + feature on the Garmin 935 be connected to the set up above, receive and read existing data and (possibly) complete other speed / cadence sensors?

it show the speed data direct in FR 935
