Where is the weather data sourced from and what location is my Fenix 5X using? Just curious because it's off by several degrees from multiple other sources.
  • From your connected smartphone. So you need to ask what source your phone gets weather from. Look at your phone and you will discover.

thanks for the response. i have an iPhone 7 but it doesn't match the weather app... seems odd.
  • Open your Garmin Connect mobile app and go to settings, scroll down to Weather and open. It should show you what weather provider is being used.
It seems that it is predetermined by Garmin and your country and location. What you choose as your weather app on your phone does not influence what Garmin has already programmed.
  • No source shown on my weather widget.
But I seem to remember they use AccuWeather. Need your phone location setting on too for accurate values.

Maybe it's different on iOS, but the Android app doesn't have this. There's a "Weather" button under "Legal" but that doesn't give any helpful information.

Didn't see this on iOS either. Couldn't find any weather related settings or options in the app.
  • My GC account is registered in the US, however in my mobile GC app (on Android), it simply states that the Canadian Radar is provided by Environment Canada. This, by the way, is under Settings/Weather.

Yea that's the one under the "Legal" heading. Not really helpful.
  • Same here

I, too, can't find any of the weather settings on my iphone. There's no "Weather" in the main settings or in the "Legal" area. There's a field for Location under "Profile and Privacy", but I don't see anything for weather in the app.

Same with me, I'm in Nevada USA.
