Ran Asics Stockholm Marathon yesterday and the watch measured the marathon to 43,05 km. +1 km on a marathon is very bad accuracy... GPS + Glonass and 1 sec recording.
Or maybe you ran 810 m longer than the perfect route. Not staying close to corners, and moving around other runners quickly add up.

Same for me, 43.21 km. I might have running a little bit longer in the beginning but not one kilometer.
Don't forget that 1km over a marathon is less than 2.5% - 1% error would be pretty damn good, and would still give you 420m over.
If you use Strava, it's worth trying Flyby to see how other devices compared with yours. A quick look suggests there are a few stretches most devices struggle with - seeing things like Ambit 2 and 3 coming up at 43 km or just above.
I ran yesterday a trail in the hills & forest, it was rainy.
The GPS signal completely dropped at mile 3, then came back later on ( 5 minutes ?).
Once it came back, the signal was awful, driving me thru houses & gardens.

Thanks for the Strava tip! Most of the runs i checked was about 43 km so maybe the accuracy is not so bad...
Wierd what it was.. a bad day? GPS is weaker on the north (thats actually confirmed)?
look on the maps (not on garmin connect, as these are quite piece of ***) but on strava or garmin app. Did your route match the streets you were running? Were there many tall buildings?
