So it begins.
I will have mine Fenix 5 on Saturday and will start doing comparisons to an Ambit 3 Peak. I don't have an F3 to directly compare to as of now.
Anyone have an F3 and F5 to compare?
Could the reason it takes longer to sync be the addition of otherwise extra information captured by the ABC sensors? Adding in that altimter/barometer/temp/etc data could be part of the reason.
You're running in my neck of the woods! I would say that's an excellent GPS tracing. I could clearly see you ran most of the run on the left side of the road and could tell when you crossed Washington Street to run on the right side with (for the wider side walk).
Heres the link to your fenix 5 track. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1627393425
That's maybe the best Fenix track I've ever seen. Totally smooth, like he was on the bike. Was Smart recording on? Even so, a really excellent track. With an F3, I'd expect to see deviations, little arcs, as he passed each building and home.

Some seem to be suggesting that GPS track and the distance measured are two different things, how can this be the case? Surely the distance measured is from the GPS chip and if that is recording inaccurate tracks how can it record accurate distances?
