Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet.

Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Peace!
  • Australia

Apparently (I have confirmed this with two retailers now) stock for Australia has been pushed back approx. another 6 weeks. While one or two retailers may get some stock later next week, it is likely not to be enough to satisfy even a small percentage of pre-orders.

I assume you mean www.ja-gps.com.au may have them end of March.
  • I just ordered a 5x from Holabird Sports. It didn't say back-ordered and they charged my card, gave a delivery date of next Tuesday. I hope that means it's in stock.
  • Just ordered the Garmin Fenix 5X with metal band from Evergreen Mountain Sports in Colorado. Guys stated it would ship Friday or Monday. They are only getting a few in. Here is their website https://evgmtnsports.com/collections/watches/products/new-2017-garmin-fenix-5x

I got mine from these guys earlier in the week and picked it up in store. They were great to deal with!
  • Just got a shipping notification from Power Meter City. Preordered Feb. 25.

Delivery estimate is Monday March 26th. No credit card issues ;) Given the late date of my order, I'm impressed.

I had to replace my credit card back in January after around the time I placed my pre order for the 5x at CT. Got a fraudulent alert charge for USPS ship and click, 12 transactions. I cancelled my 5x order from CT a few days ago and removed my credit card info on their site.

    ---------

Still waiting on tracking number from REI, still in process, projected delivery is supposedly Monday.

wow this is crazy and confirms the situation to me. I had the same charges on my card....16 separate charged on same day from USPS ship and click in Washington DC.

Crazy the fraudulent activity on my card was EXACTLY the same. I had close to 20 separate charges in the span of 2 days from USPS ship and click located in Washington D.C.

    Hi,
Based on both of your feedback and due the the fact that I have not heard anything solid from CT (pre-ordered on the 12th of Jan), I went ahead and ordered from Evergreen Mountain Sports.
    Thanks for the tip. :)

I also checked my credit card transactions dating back to Jan, but luckily haven't found anything suspicious

Same here. 20+ USPS ship and click charges, small amounts, probably testing out if larger charges would go unnoticed.

In the meantime CT responded to my email:

    Dear Clever Training Customer,

Thank you for you reaching out to us regarding this concern that you have seen on a recent forum. We would like to assure you that Clever Training is PCI compliant and have regular reviews by a 3rd party company called Trustware which is a top compliance firm. You can view their verification badge at the bottom of our site. In addition, credit cards are transmitted directly to our credit card processor and not stored or touched by our server at any point.
We continue to have these safety and security measures in place and I am not aware of anything that has been indicated otherwise or a breech that occurred. I hope this helps clarify and provide confidence that your personal information and privacy is a top priority!

I hope you enjoy your new Fenix 5 and am happy to answer any more questions you may have.

I will not further comment on their reply.
  • FYI, ordered mine from REI online (sport band - non metal) on 3/22 late in the evening, received a shipping email late last night 3/23 with a UPS tracking number, delivery next Wednesday!
  • Regarding people whose credit card numbers got stolen after a Clever Training order:

Look into virtual account numbers. I have that on my Citi card. Other cards offer something similar.

You can generate a new CC number for each online transaction, and can set an amount limit and expiration date. The number can only be used by one vendor. The charges all come through on your bill like they were made to your base CC number, so it's not confusing. There's no problem with a return getting credited back to the one-time number.

And if you're dealing with a less-reputable vendor, it'll stop them putting on extra charges you weren't aware of, because that number can't exceed the Dollar limit you assigned.

It makes it a lot harder to for someone to steal and use the number, and if they do, you only have to cancel that virtual number, not your real CC number. So less hassle.

The one place you have to watch out is if you're buying something online that you'll pick up, like baseball tickets, because they'll generally want to see the card you used to purchase them, and you won't have a card with the virtual number on it.
