Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

I got an email when it shipped to the store and when it arrived at the store. No tracking info though.

IDK how REI works in terms of ordering from other stores.

but as of last night at 8pm, the REI in Rockville MD had an F5X in stock (I cancelled my order and went with the 5)

Shoot looks like I might not get it today then. Guess I'll keep waiting!

In any event, CT seems to send out their update e-mails on Wednesdays, so perhaps we'll get a more official statement tomorrow from them on where things stand.

Thank you for the update. I found their weekly email updates helpful and reassuring too.

REI update: Backorder placed Monday evening, this morning my credit card was charged and it look like estimated delivery is March 27 Monday. Waiting on tracking number at this point.

Clever Training is showing my Jan 4th 5X order as "under review(riskified)". So they might be preparing to complete the order.

I'm pretty sure it's under review because the original card I pre-ordered with was stolen and I had to provide the new number.

I called them they receive 5 tomorrow with tracking. and with mine they already had 4 sold.

So I don't know if they still have availlability.

Evergreen Has two with Metal Bands

Just got a call from Paul at Evergreen Mountain Sports. He's going to have two of the Fenix 5X's with metal bands by Friday! So if you want one give him a call right away!
I have one with regular band in route from him already and just thought I'd pass the word.

PS: Incidentally - my CC was also stolen (within days of this order) and I had to supply the new account. Any other CT customers had similar issues?
