Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet. Has it shipped yet.

Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Peace!

Cancelled my Amazon order and placed order with REI this afternoon

Still no availability status at Amazon, just got my shipping notification from REI. Good thing I rushed to pre-order on the 5th of January on Amazon...

    Now the real anticipation begins,

Ordered mine from REI today. Initial deliver date was thursday 23rd. Just got my shipping confirmation with and estimated delivery of tuesday the 21st!

Had a $100 rei gift card and $25 dividend which made the price hurt a bit less.

For the F5X DWI (Digital World International) currently list for $879 AUS with additional $20 discount till 19th March. Purchased many times in past with no issues.

No problem, as long as you don't want the Australian topo maps, which are an extra $200 if you buy them separately. If you need the cycling maps, add another $60. None of the imported or "grey market" stuff will have correct maps, but that is only an issue with the 5X.

I had ordered from Evergreen, who advised that for warranty they would send a replacement etc and you could ship the watch back. They were great to deal with, but the issue of returning a watch to the USA (on the slight chance it will fail) was enough to turn me away. However, they were amazing while discussing this and I wish they were local!

Next year I will be ready for this. $100 + 5% + 10%. Of course you have to pay tax so negate the 8%.
  • I cancelled my Amazon preorder as well and ordered from REI, primarily for the warranty.

I live only 30 minutes from Evergreen and could easily drive there. But I'll wait a few more days so I can get the REI warranty.
  • In the wild...

I saw all three models in the wild today -- at an Expo where Garmin had a booth for the Tobacco Road marathon that I'm running tomorrow. No discounts so I did not pull the trigger as I'm hoping I can at least get an REI dividend or some such!

That was precisely what I was looking for as well. One year warranty, no questions asked. Yet in truth, while I have this watch incoming I just picked up (well ordered and waiting for it to come) an actofit watch. I've come to a point where I am looking for something that covers more of the things I do and records them correctly. If the actofit does what I think it does, the 5x is going back. I have stated this before in the F3HR forum, I have no loyalty to a brand. If there is a device that does what I need and does it well, then there I will go.

I will go to other brand, but others doesn't make the cadence and RPM sensor.
