Just like an aggravating, but anxious kid.

I was happy with my 405, then the 410, then maybe 605, 610, F2, now F3. F3 works for the most part. Its crashed on me. Its locked up on me. But I still like it. It does much more than I need, but I can live with that. the 5x does even more than I need. But I dont know if I'd like maps or not. But I do like the idea of more memory and faster processor. That spells future proof usually. I might not like mapping. Ok. so I may not use it. I might not like the OHRM, though I hope it works. If not. So be it. I really really hope it wont lock up during my next 50miler, 100k or 100miler. That really blows. It blows that I cant charge it while its on my wrist. But eh... I can hold it while charging, or faster it to my pack. Ultras are hard, holding a while during recharge. Cake. I'm excited. I'm prepping my F3 for resale, hoping to reduce the chunk the F5x is setting me back. But my preorder is in.

Looks like my order is shipping today from a 2/6 pre-order. Hopefully arrives by Saturday. No ETA on tracking yet.

My 1/4 preorder for 5x metal shipped monday for delivery today. Looks like they are getting caught up on orders pretty quickly.

REI 5X - Delays due to Garmin

I just got off the phone with the product guys at REI and they indicated Garmin only sent 1/3 of the allotment they were promised for each of the last 2 shipments to REI. The next shipments are expected mid-late April and are already looking at being further delayed. I cancelled my order for the 5x and bought a 5 (no sapphire) at the local REI retail store. I may swap it out later for the 5x, but for now, it looks/feels good on the wrist. I still definitely long for the maps features, though.

I got off the chat yesterday as well and they informed me my 5x is due to arrive on April 5. Fingers crossed.

I had a great experience at a small shop in Evergreen, Colorado. I got my Garmin Fenix 5X and 5S from Evergreen Mountain Sports in Colorado 2 weeks ago. There website just updated that they have 5 Fenix 5X available for shipment. Ship date is Tuesday 4/4. I figured I would let others know where they can get it.

Thanks for passing this along :) .. I ordered on Amazon b/c of their interest free card, however I am waiting on receiving another interest free visa in the mail any day now, if I get it before Amazon ships I will order from these guys and cancel Amazon.

Frustration

Frustration is seeing people getting theirs from smaller and some larger vendors and due to a certain set of circumstances unable to order mine until they're available through the Garmin Store.

REALLY bummed...but guess this explains my delay from my order a week ago.

Jackrabbit

Found a previously unknown to me running site called Jackrabbit.com. They seem to have adequate stock. Ordered 5x late Wednesday night and shipped today (about 36 hours later). Due to arrive Monday. On their site they offer the optional "shoprunner" upgrade feature which I've used on the Adidas site and a few others. It provides free two day shipping and free returns.

Update- Also just realized that this site offers bonus points. So for a purchase this large, I have a very nice credit to get a new pair of running shoes
