Release date thread

I think it will be good to have one central place to have the latest news people here about the updated release date. DCR said it looks like early March. The garmin site says 5-8 weeks but thats the default time on all new products. Everywhere I read it says "By end of Q1" which is the end of March. Rei still doesnt have it listed yet either. Has anyone heard anything more specific?

How is it, that some stores get it before Garmin even releases the date on the website ? I signed up to get emails as soon as the release date comes out through Garmin and Best Buy's , where I pre-ordered mine. From what others have said, and the person I spoke to at Garmin, that some stores like Best Buy's get it before Garmin has it on the website for release.

That's kind of strange how that works..

It's always been that way.. Garmin is one of the last to stock their inline store.. Odd? Sure but that's how they roll..

So does that mean that I would get an email from Best Buy's first or from Garmin as far as release ?

I called HRM and they said they received 3 of each model. They wont receive anymore until the end of April
