A speculative question here - do you think the CPU inside the Chronos is the same as the CPU in the upcoming F5 (not F5X) as I'm trying to compare apples to apples, thinking the F5 is the latest in the F3/Chronos range ?
They may not be the same, but they are probably same performance class or closer. Chronos is already about 4 times faster than F3 in terms of CIQ benchmarks. Epix is better in CIQ benchmarks, however in hardware it has a slower processor than F3. This means its maybe clocked higher than F3 and F3 CPU is clocked lower, even though it can go 60 MHz faster than Epix CPU. Also F5X has an extarnal memory chip, so it has more than 1 MB RAM for CIQ apps, while other versions has only 128 KB. This may help increase the performance in some apps; however may result in latencies and more power consumption in others compared to other two model. However, I think there'll be some apps running only in the F5x version as it has a lot of memory compared to other versions. We will see the results when the F5 series is released to consumers...
