Higher occurrence of HRM dropout on v10 vs v9 or v9.10

So I've been watching the data gathered from my 5X Plus over the last couple of months, and the graphs on Connect show that there is a higher occurrence of HRM dropout on v10.

Mine are with the cycling and mostly indoor cycling. After 15 minutes, and usually in the early 20 minute range, the HRM will drop to a high resting rate, then slowly start to climb back to normal. Sometimes it happens more than once. It NEVER happens in the first 15 minutes.

I've read all the forums about watch tightness, yada yada. I've been wearing the watch since it came out, tracked all my activities that I use it for, and this has been the only time I'm started to have a consistent HRM issue like this. It's show to be more consistent in v10

  • Your v10 is much more inconsistent than mine. Mine tends to drop one or more time after that 15-20 minute mark, more like one big deviation... then returns. I've just sat there and watched it climb back to my normal rate. I've compared it to all the various metrics pulled during the activity, and the drops really don't correlate to any specific event. It just seems to "happen".

I've had a nearly identical experience. Most notable on long bike rides, as that's where I get the bulk of my cardio in.

One exception: last week, it appeared to work MUCH better under Mountain Bike mode. Made me think that it could be a case of the specific 'mode' causing issues.

My previous Vivoactive HR was nearly flawless for 3 years.
