sleep analysis increasingly wacky

the analysis of sleep is more and more far-fetched.
Decide several hours "awake" in the middle of the night instead of a deep sleep.
Can not edit errors as important.
This creates difficulties when one wants to analyze sleep as part of a recovery program. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1438883.jpg

My Vivosport shows silly sleep hours! Like 2 1/2 when it is probably nearer 6 or 7. I've raised it as another topic, but no one has responded.

I am really happy overall with my new F5+ but this is the one thing that really bugs me about it. My Fitbit Charge 2 was so accurate when it came to sleep tracking but the Garmin is completely inaccurate. Really hoping this improves with a software update in the future!
  • I have not had this experience. My sleep tracking seems spot on and I have not seen any crazy behavior.

Mine tracks me as sleeping from the moment I am horizontal until I am vertical and any awake time seems to be tracked as REM. Even when I get up it takes a few minutes to register I am awake even though I may have been awake watching TV for 20 minutes! Odd...

    Couldn’t agree more with this.

Its baffling to me that’s the 5+ is smart enough to guess correctly that I’m doing Shoulder Presses or Squats but shows me as sleeping deeply when I’m stil tidying the kitchen an hour before I go to bed?!

AutoSleep on my Apple Watch was unerringly accurate with sleep tracking; in contrast the functionality is absolutely useless in its current implemention on the 5+.
  • Already reported following the update of the sleep analysis that included paradoxical sleep in June.
    since NOTHING !!!!
It seems that the develloppers of Garmin sport watches are too busy develloper gadget (music, pay, ...) to look at one of the fundamentals (recovery after exercise).
    Lamentable !!!!
  • I have to sync my watch immediate after waking up with GCM, otherwise it always says my wake up time is 10:21.

Hardly automatic sleep tracking, even then, very inaccurate.
  • I haven't seen any acknowledgement from anyone from Garmin to this. Given it's widely reported elsewhere, such as Reddit, and therefore probably putting off potential customers I am surprised it's not more of a priority for them to address.

I woke up yesterday morning to Garmin telling me I had been asleep at 2057 the previous night. In fact I was still in the office at that time, I didn't get back to the hotel until 2200 and went to bed at least 30 minutes after that. Sleep tracking on the Garmin is just inexplicably bad compared to the competition.
  • I found the older firmware was better at sleep tracking and the latest v6.00 seems to be bad and just as everyone else says, very inaccurate to be point its useless.

I would report it to Garmin, but with a few things recently, I don't think they care.
