Along with cleaning the connectors, try this.
With the watch not connected, hold three buttons down (light, down and start buttons) for 15-20 seconds and try charging again.
I just finished chatting with Erica from Garmin Support Centre. The chat took less than 10 minutes and resulted in them sending me a refurbished watch, and I'll send in the defective one when I receive…
Mine wouldn't charge at ALL. I did your trick thinking it wouldn't work as there was no power left but it worked. Thank you!
I really think the charging port is a flawed design the pins seem to accumulate a surface layer of corrosion too easily
Suggest you clean the contacts with toothpaste and brush, being gentle. also check the contacts on the charging cable as these can be problematic too.
I just tried solution provided by mhyten01 and held down the buttons. My Garmin started working again and charging.
This worked straight away thank u sm
Unbelievable I have fought chargers, cords, cleaning. I found your reply an BAM! Charging perfectly. Thank you for your reply!!!
Thought mine wasn’t charging either. Did this trick and when it powered on, it actually had been charging in the back ground and was at 18%. So it wasn’t that it wasn’t charging it just didn’t power back on after plugging the charging cable in. Thank you, all working now.
Worked for me. Thanks so much.
I put a tiny bit of aftershave on the back of watch and electric toothbrushed the connectors. Seems to have worked and smells lovely.
It works perfectly. Thank you very much.
This worked even though the watch was dead and unresponsive. Came back to life.
