Fenix 5x Plus APAC support Spotify feature?

I've tired update software version 5.10 in order to get Spotify feature but my Garmin Express shows latest version is v4.20 cannot update to v5.10.
I just wonder about Fenix 5x Plus APAC version is not supported for Spotify feature so, I will upset if it is the root cause.
However, I take a look in Garmin Connect application available. It also shows Spotify but it said that "This app is not compatible with the selected device." TT

Could you please help the Fenix 5x Plus APAC to be able to use Spotify feature as well? I bought this device because of the music so, this should be supported.

    Already installed v5.1 via Garmin Express but cannot get Spotify application also. "device not compatible" Why?
    In the changes log for this version said that
    • Added support for the Spotify Connect IQ Music App.
    It should support though. Garmin Please make it support for APAC version. Please Please...

    They were surprised to hear that we're having this issue, i.e., Garmin intended to give the APAC model Spotify functionality.

    They said that they're checking the situation in order to solve the issue.

    I assume it is now just a matter of time, but it is a bit disappointing after finally receiving 5.1 to not be able to use Spotify straight away :(

    The problem is probably in the Manifest file of Spotify app in Connect IQ.

    This XML file indicates which products are supported by the app. The last modified date for the app in Connect IQ shows 3/10/18, before APAC devices received the 5.10 firmware (which is a pre-requisite for Spotify). As a result it is likely that Spotify developer couldn't have added the APAC products id in the manifest when they uploaded the app. I've contacted them (through the contact developer form) to ask them to update the manifest. If someone here have direct access to their development team, it will be faster to ask them directly. Let's wait and see...
  • Hilarious. Garmin finally decides to offer an update for APAC models, but don't have a clue what's actually required for the highlight feature of that update to actually work.

    I don't even see the Spotify app in the Connect IQ store, looks like it's been pulled.

    They just removed all references to Spotify.

    It looks like the APAC version isn't going to be getting Spotify for a while.....

  • Whattt! You've just removed the change logs for supporting Spotify... What's wrong with this product? Is it H/W issue or S/W issue for supporting Spotify?

    For issue on both cases, you should tell your customers what happen and how you gonna solve this issue and roughly when this is gonna be released.

    Keep quiet without clearify like this is not good since it gonna make your customer' satisfaction down and then "Trust for the brand"

    Hopefully, this is the matter of S/W and it should release as soon as possible.

    We need an explanation! I wish I could return this watch right now. I had a Fenix 5 and spent 800 USD on an upgrade that so far isn't bringing anything to me. The advertising around Spotify is totally misleading. There's not even a single mention to the fact that it doesn't work if you buy your watch in Asia.

    Taiwan support told me they will wait 2 weeks from 18th Oct, for 5.10 firmware to rollout, before releasing Spotify. I doubt this as it contradicts what Jim (rightfully) explained about the SDK 3.0.4 and the new build needed. I don't know why they removed the Spotify support from the changelog. I guess we have to wait end of this month.
