Fenix 5 Plus: https://www8.garmin.com/support/down...s.jsp?id=14331

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

4.64 Change Log Notes:
  • Fixed an issue where the device could crash while using Garmin Pay.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue where the display length during a pool swim could show invalid values.
  • Made several bug fixes for the music player.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

Please send all bug reports to "][email protected], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 Plus series you have in the subject line.
  • As I see more resentment and feature lacking in other brands (like Suunto) I wish you good luck. Let’s see what Polar has to do after so many years of inactivity. For now...help developers with the current bugs.

i did not buy a suunto, i bought a fenix. i bought the fenix because things were working. now core features are not working, because the devs destroyed already working functionality. some releases ago the core features were working. now they don't. the devs broke the fenix. very simple and not acceptable.
  • I believe this is the situation. I've seen this kind of FW development as a customer on other Garmin products in the past.

On a side note, I do think their quality control routines need to be improved and that they should take more time testing their products before releasing them to the consumers.

IMO the negative noise and the amount of it have the opposite effect. I understand the frustration... If the sole reason (feature) for buying a product is not working as advertised, and there is very little indication/communication from GArmin that your issue is being addressed, it is very understandable to become angry.

But if the posts in this thread were more constructive and contained more useful observations and facts, maybe they would bother reading them. (I'm at fault myself for posting like this in this tread. My apologies.)

Garmin could also make this forum a better place by keeping us in the loop on reported bugs. A live bug list where people can click if the experience the bug or not. Then Garmin would see the magnitude of a problem real quick and hopefully direct their efforts appropriately. I believe we are a committed and engaged community that wants GArmin to succeed in giving the product that meet all our needs. (maybe because we paid a premium price for it.:)...) so why not use us.

Have anyone noticed that SUunto and polar do not have a consumer forum. If they had, maybe the content would look quite similar to this one ;)

I was thinking about it some hours ago while i was swimming! :D
  • They have fixed a pool swimming bug but they have introduced another one : I have just tried 4.64b in a pool. Total lengths/distance data fileds seems ok now but I noticed another bug: interval pace and interval swolf data fields are not displayed while swimming until you press "lap" or stop the activity! It only shows "-:-" ! So they have fixed one bug but they have introduced soon another one!

This will be the first beta I’ve tried out and since I see there’s a sensor hub update in it I’m going to hope it solves my ohrm issues of my device not tracking consistently. I will update again after 48 hours.
  • I just did the recommended soaking of my watch- left it on a table in the garden recording an activity. A few syncs with my PC and phone later, EPO still says "expired"
    Any suggestions?
  • haha, who gives a damn about a "fast update system", if core functions stop working and the software is messed up more and more with every single update!?

OWS stopped working after an update, altimeter stopped working after an update, different things in GC mobile stopped working after an update and many, many more.

You shouldn't be installing beta versions if you don't expect defects. That is entirely the point of Garmin releasing beta versions. So we can find the bugs for them! Expect things to not work perfectly.

Cool, I always wanted to spend lots of unpayed freetime searching for bugs to get my expencive investment (maybe someday??) work as advertised/useful.
Garmin should pay back for the support WE give them because there is NO useful support in here from their side.
Garmin took the money and RUUUNNNNN :)

ehm, 935 core functions (as a triathlete) were destroyed in an official release (9.60, NOT beta). a complete mess in OWS and cycling, i don't expect Spanish Inquisition... errrr, massive damage from an official release.
