First Gen HRM-Run drops out after 2-ish mins

Second run with the new 5X+ and it did the same thing on each run - all strap related data; ground contact time & balance, stride length, vert oscillation, etc. stops recording at around 2 mins 14 seconds. My wife's new 5+ (not X) is doing the exact same thing. Still getting heart rate, cadence, etc, but that is likely coming from the watch when it drops the strap out. Battery changed in our HRM Runs a couple weeks ago.

We both just upgraded from 5X's which worked fine with the straps.
  • I have the same issue but with another device.

On a ride the other day I had my 5+ connected to cadence sensor, speed sensor, Varia RTL, HRM TRI, and a Varia vision, and of course the cell phone.
I don't remember exactly at what time but the Varia Vision would get disconnected after a few minutes and not reconnect automatically. This happened repeatedly after manually connecting the Vision.

I was ready to give up, until I tried the same solution posted here; disconnect the cell phone. Then the Varia Vision stayed connected throughout the ride. :)
(The RTL did drop out and in a couple of times during the 5 hour ride. But this behaviour was not new, and RTL reconnected automatically after a few seconds)

  • The problem with recording dynamic characteristics in 3.53 Beta Release is not fixed. Features are only saved when the phone is disconnected.
  • +1 for the RD dropout issues, On Friday I used the Fenix 3hr, HRM-Run and first-gen footpod. No issues with Running Dynamics. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, on the treadmill with the 5+ , I get RD dropout from the 2.08-2.09 point. Interestingly, I still get pace from the footpod and heart rate from the HRM-Run, just no RD metrics. I've logged a case, but no response yet.

  • I tried again today with the Bluetooth connection to the phone turned off. No dropouts on RD metrics.

Today I tried the same and it worked fine! (Garmin 5 plus with HRM RUN). But of cause it's no solution!
  • Still no news on this issue? I was planning on buying the hrm4-run, but will obviously hold off until this bug is sorted.. Not having the watch connected via BT is definitely not a solution for me as I want to hear the spoken feedback (pace / heart rate etc)
  • Same issue here for 5+. I will try cutting the grass with phone disconnected. Hoping for a fix soon, the advanced running metrics is why I bought this!
  • I do not have any issue with my hrm run from my old fenix 3 hr

I just purchased a D2 Delta PX (Fenix 5X+ with Aviation features), and I have this issue on my first 2 (so, all runs so far) runs on the watch. Same issue at 2:08.

Funny, I didn’t notice it on my first run, because the graph scale spanned 0:00-2:30, but I noticed it on my second run when the data cut off at 2:08 and the graph scale was the entire run this time.
