4.20 Wakeup Issues

Anyone else getting frequent notifications that the R10 went to sleep amd needs to be woken up? This was not an issue in 4.0 for me.

Yes, and it's making me regret my decision buying the R10 . Come on Garmin, at least give us some idea when this will be rectified..It really spoils the flow of a practice session!

Would be even better if zero..

Not sure why this sleep function is implemented at all. It's not like the R10 has a poor battery, and we don't have to save the energy crisis, so why not disable it?…

My Garman just keeps going in to stand by mode. I turn it back on again and by the time I hit a shot it's gone off again! I only just bought it. This was my first experience using it... so disappointing!

I assume this is the same issue?

The support guy at Garmin said September 8th they will release a software update but did say it might not be till the 10th. Very frustrating. I actually ended up returning my R10. I might check out the Mevo.

I am having the same issue. Been working with the tech support at Garmin and they can’t figure it out. It’s really annoying and makes practice sessions impossible. Considering returning the device and going with something else. The first few sessions it was going to sleep and the light was blinking white. My last session, the light was blinking red and the screen was fluctuating between a “ready” notification and “connecting.” I was told it may be because it’s not compatible with IPad, which I am using. Not compatible with an IPad, that is ridiculous. So all my practice sessions need to be viewed on my phone? If that’s the case Garmin needs to address that ASAP! Who wants to play a round of golf on E6 on their phone? Really frustrating.

I'm using an Android phone! I found if I recalibrate it fixes it for a while.

Today I used it linked to Awesome Golf and played 9 holes with 2 friends and have maybe one time that Awesome said to wake it up. Works much better it seems than when I was using the Garmin Software.

This needs fixed NOW!!! We’ve paid for a product that basically doesn’t work! I just got mine a couple weeks and this is getting to be a total pain!

What is the update on this Garmin? This has gone on to long now to not just put out a simple patch update.

Completely agree. 800 CDN for this and while it works, irritating that I have to keep waking it up, even on Awesome Golf.

Hello, we have released v4.30 for the Approach R10. The change log is below. This fixes the bug causing the unit to go to sleep between shots. Please update at your earliest convenience.

Added support for Titleist RCT golf balls.
Fixed a bug causing the unit to go to sleep between shots.
Improved chip shot detection.
