  • "Reset" sensors after mounting

    Hi,
I tried mounting my Virb Ultra in an airplane and it worked fine with some drawbacks. The optimal mounting position meant that the camera was a bit angled downward. This means that the G-Metrix sensor data is showing -12 degrees forward pitch when stationary. Is there any way to reset the sensors so you get the relative pitch/angle instead?

I checked the manual and did some searching but came up empty.

Unfortunately the short answer is "no".

The long answer is - you can use the FIT SDK to manipulate the data but you'd have to write your own Java, C, or C++ application to do so. If you're lucky you might be able to do it in a week or two of casual hacking. The math is easy. It's getting the data into and out of the FIT file in a way that VIRB Edit will be happy with it that presents the real challenge.

Yeah that is not an option. Given the sensors in the camera this is something that should be there out of the box.
