  • Bing Maps is NOT acceptable!!!

What did you do GARMIN!??? I call out to everyone, to post their disappointment here. Let GAMIN know that they have ruined one of the best features of having a garmin watch. I loved to watch where I had been marching or running, but that is ruined now.

    WE WANT GOOGLE MAPS BACK!!!

    To the developers:
    1. Please explain why you choose to ruin the fun of having a garmin watch?
    2. Are you even thinking about changing it back? or will we just have to live with it?

Move to RunningAhead.com. It uses Google Maps. The display window is larger too.

I agree. Big maps are exceedingly inferior to Google maps

                      Garmin Response

I sent an email to Garmin and this was their response.

                      Dear Mike Bronze,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for registering your Edge 500. Garmin has a rich history of collaborating with industry leaders, and using Bing maps with Garmin Connect provided an opportunity to build upon our existing relationship with Microsoft.

Garmin Connect users will continue to enjoy all of the familiar mapping features and functions that bring more than 40 million saved activities to life, and working with Bing will lead to more exciting developments in the future.

                      With Best Regards,

                      Terry M

Industry leaders? When it comes to maps on the web, I think that is Google.

                          Bing doesn't cut it

Bing does not build on Google; in fact, it removes valuable features such as the terrain option.

I live in Korea and the map data is vastly inferior to that of Google maps. We need Google maps back!!

                            Bing is Awful

I just went to upload tonight's run and was really upset to see Bing was being used now. It's a completely inferior product. The maps aren't as clear or as easy to read. Bring back Google Maps! I loved Garmin Connect before but now I'll search elsewhere for a tool. I love my new 405 but this is a huge disappointment!
