I have set interval to smart, but still a 400 km ride came out as a 59 MB file. How can I reduce it to upload it to garmin connect/Strava, and how do I avoid getting so large files in the future?

Former Member that is huge
edge820 fit file around 0.8MB for a 100km ride
would you mind providing us with the fit file so we could have a look at it ?
you could try zipping the file and upload the zip here in the "forum"
guess that big best provide it with a link to a online storage like dropbox
happy biking
Here is the file. Former Member
I have done 3 rides with it. The first ride in my local area was small. But the two rides I did in a country where I didn't have the maps, but was following a route is both very big. Maybe it has to do with that?

could be, but still big
shall have a look at it
do you want them seperated ?
This is only the one file that was larger than the limit. The other was just below so got that uploaded.
I'm more concerned with how to avoid it in the future, the edge 1030 got very sluggish towards the end of the rides. Might be because of the large files too?
ah ok I get it one big file
do you turn the 1030 complete off or hibernate mode ?
Not sure.
But I stopped the activity and saved it before I turned it off, I think it froze when doing that both times.
connect the 1030 to a computer
backup the content of the activities folder
delete everything in it
go from there...check the next ride...
it is huge with 255 data records repeating themselves continuously
Ok. Any way to save/reduce the big file? I hate to lose this activity
should succeed in a while
