Garmin golf app v2.10.1 is very slow and crashes

Garmin golf app v2.10.1 is very slow and crashes on Android Huawei P30 when using with Approach R10 in driving range modus.

  • As of October 30, 2023 the most current version of the Garmin Golf is 2.15 (Android) and 2.15.1 (iOS).

If you you are having concerns with the Garmin Golf app crashing, or running slow during use...please check the following:

    • Amount of apps or processes running in the background on the smartphone: If too many apps or processes are running at once on a smartphone, this can affect the performance while using the Garmin Golf app. Try closing out of apps that are not being used during sessions to see if that helps.
    • Try clearing the cache on your phone for the default web browser.
    • Ensure the smartphone being used meets the Minimum Device requirements
    • Make sure there is a reliable connection to a Wi-Fi network, or with cellular data.
  • Done all of it but still freezing when running a practice simulation or reviewing a previous one. Seems to be working well with home tee hero but will confirm it tomorrow. My phone and Garmin r10 work well with awesome golf for example.

  • One other part I forgot to mention is the hardware storage available on the smartphone as well. Ensure that the hardware storage on the phone (not including SD card or external storage) is sufficiently available for any recorded or saved sessions...especially if recording video during sessions, etc.

  • No issue on storage side, I have more than 15gb available. The issue happens when selecting one shot in a saved session and the trajectory is being rendered. If waiting it might eventually work but generally everything freezes.
