Weather Widget always waiting for data - please fix

Hey all,

I've just found a fix on another thread. If you start an app eg run/bike let it find GPS you will then find that the weather app comes back. It seems the the GPS on the watch is required for location, not the GPS/Location services on phone.

It seems crazy that you would have to do this all the time to update the weather app.

Let me know if anyone finds a better way to make this app work.

I have the same problem with weather widget in the Fenix 3 with 4.60 firmware update.

Same problem on 4.70

A couple months later and I still have this problem, now running 5.0, everything else updated. Why haven't they fixed this yet? Is there a fix (not a hand holding work around like having to connect the watch to satellites every time I want to see the weather) that I've simply missed?

Simple solution

I also had this "waiting for data" problem and found a very simple solution: Start an activity like Run or Bike for a few minutes to aquire GPS signal !!!, then you can delete it. Thats it. In a few seconds the weather will work again. I thing the watch needs to update its position. Works for me every time.
