MyFitnessPal sync still broken

The *fix* was supposedly deployed 12/31 according to the sticky post, however I am still having sync issues. I still cannot sync manually to MyFitnessPal from the Garmin Connect website. From the app I can open myfitnesspal to enter things, however it will never show up on the dashboard in garmin connect. If I hit sync now it just spins and never syncs.

Calories are syncing for me, but activities are stuck in a loop. Today I had over 10,000 entries for one activity (on a day that I had no activities!)
  • Same for me, MyFitnessPal calories sync is broken...

That's dated Jan 2. I can't believe that a backlog would not be cleared by now. Think about it, there really isn't that much data that needs to be sent so even if there were thousands trying it should have been cleared by now. At this point my vivosmart isn't even syncing with Garmin Connect, let alone with MyFitnessPal. Even connecting it to the computer throws errors when trying to sync.

My link is also busted between Garmin Connect and MFP. No synch since 1/2/14 )now 48 hrs)
  • Just so you know, there is an issue with many other devices 210, 220, and others who have posted on another thread, and myself included on my FR910XT unable to synch today -- or rather, sync completed on Garmin Express, but new workout not seen in Garmin Connect (maybe last 1 day too), so problem is likely to be at Garmin Connect server end. This has happened before, to everyone's great annoyance, and was eventually fixed.
  • Yes I agree with other posters - the "backlog" has not worked or was just a smokescreen. Or maybe they are referring to a "Backlog" in the project management sense and it is the amount of bugs left to fix and features to implement!

Either way it's not acceptable that the service has not been working for this length of time.

I don't think Garmin are unaware of this, I just think they don't seem capable of addressing it in a timely fashion. That smacks of poor management or bad release and testing practices within their teams. All we can do is keep the pressure on them and hope it brings more resources, or better processes or whatever they need, because clearly something needs to be done within Garmin - this happens too often.

Or we move to other suppliers, of which there will be more and more this year: "The year of the wearable". If I was Garmin management I wouldn't count too much on your current hardware and market position advantage - that can change over time, and it's the software that people really interact with on a day to day basis, and how they ultimately judge the product.

  • mfp say they have issues their end, so it's not simply a Garmin issue as mfp has also had problems with other sites. I do know both sides are trying to resolve it. Sometimes you have to be patient ....
