At the minute if you use Strava - you can see instantly the time spent in each of your training zones. This is an essential tool for an athlete training with a coach - hence the reason it is also on training peaks. I switched to mainly using Garmin because of auto up loading but have to switch to other programmes to feed info to my coach. This seems like such a basic feature that garmin really should incorporate.
I like my Garmin hardware, but coming from Polar Protrainner (example below), Heart rate zones is an area where Garmin connect falls short:
To be up to speed with the competition, Connect needs the following features:
1) Customise Heart Zones (use 5, 6 or more)
2) Name the zones (Short name that can be used on devices
3) Select a background colour for each zone in the graph
4) Of course time spent in zones (time and %)
In general more analysis of the activity should be available. If garmin would like to keep it clean for those users that does not care about all statistics, they could add an option in settings to show or hide "advanced" activity statistics.
Having recently started using HR zones for training it's frustrating having to switch back and forth between Classic and Modern views for a HR zone view. Given that we have the ability to view overlays in the Modern view (HR,Cadence,Elevation etc) could we implement an overlay for HR Zone?
