Uploading (syncing?) to modern version of Connect? Seems like it doesn't work.

I tried out the "modern" version for the first time yesterday. The Sync option always tells me "Nothing to sync right now.". I have to go back to the old version to upload from my device. Any ideas about how uploading/syncing is supposed to work in the new version?

    well in the same vein my edge 810 cannot be seen on my list of devices in modern view. The only device the modern view seems to see is my vivofit but I want to use both devices, vivofit for all non cycling movement and hr and the 810 for cycling events. The vivofit is not storing and/or is loosing data for days at a time and when I do get it to sync I'll have gaping holes in the days when I reached or exceeded 10,000 steps.
  • I may have identified the problem. In the process of deleting tiles on the main page that I don't use, I found the one about devices which tells me "You have no device on Garmin Connect.". Seems like the sync page would be the place to display this information. Whatever. Now that I have Garmin Express taking up disk space, I still don't know if I can upload data.

    I have also just tried the new Modern version of the Connect. I only have one device - Garmin Swim - which is no longer showing up. It keeps telling me that I need to connect my device using Garmin Express - however, Garmin Express already has all the details of my device..... let's hope they get this bug fixed before they switch off the Classic version. If anyone knows of the solution to this problem I would be grateful for the info. Thanks.

    Just to post an update - this solution worked for me:

    "Do you have the ANT Agent installed? If so, uninstall it. Find the folder C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Garmin and rename it. The name you use doesn't matter, just rename it so that Garmin Express can't find it. Do you have Garmin Express installed? If no, install it. Run Garmin Express. Does your device show up in the devices dropdown? If so, select the device from the dropdown and click the Devices link. Click Delete Device from Express. Choose to remove your device from Garmin Connect and click OK. Now click Add New Device from the devices dropdown. Follow the steps to pair your device to Garmin Express."

  • same here. My forerunner 305 is not showing in the new version but does show in the old. I have Garmin express because I have a NUVi and it recognizes my Forerunner but connect says there is nothing to sync. Bring back the upload button to force connect to find the hardware.

    Same issue for me. Edge 500 (bike). Windows 7 PC. Chrome browser. Syncs fine with Classic version but New version does not see my device. Tells me to install Express, but I have it already and with the latest versions.

    Would love a fix.

  • Seems I can upload data. An automated process that classified my new activities as "running". Only, I don't run. I think I liked the old work-flow better where I sat down at my computer, connected my watch, uploaded activities or selected activities, edited them, and waited to be notified of comments on my new activities and training observations. On the new setup, I connected my watch to my computer, didn't have time for uploading, went to sleep, and woke up to comments about how fast I was running. Only, I don't run. Found and edited the events, and replied to the comments mentioning that I don't run. Well certainly this isn't the worst thing about the Connect site.

    Mine tells me cant sync right now try again! completely useless having installed Garmin Express and updates etc. When I just used ANT it was fine. What a mess... Why do they do these things without proper support? My device appears on the drop down but that's it. Nothing works cant upload and it just wipes my recent data from my 310XT ?? Help
