It appears that Garmin wanted to do an update to the manner in which the "Upload" function was accessed. Unfortunately, at least in my experience, they seemed to have screwed up what was a perfectly functioning feature before this supposed update. All I get now is a redirect to a page that informs me that I need to update my software and re-sync. Fine. I did that and, surprise; when I go back to the home page and go to "Upload", I once again get redirected to that same page. I'm curious as to whether this is something only I'm experiencing or a known issue. If the latter, does anyone have a solution to get past this nuisance?
There are pages of people complaining about the same thing and nothing from Garmin support what so ever .... I've followed the troubleshooting, reset the device, updated express, uninstalled , reinstalled .. Everything but activities uploads just fine .....
That's fine if you believe it's just a Connect issue, just wanting to point out as many here are posting with Express related issues that there are now specific forums for Express. The Garmin team are active daily there, don't often see anyone from the Connect team here. You didn't say what device you have but the steps here may help, or you may have already tried them
For the benefit of others: if you expect Modern to upload your activities the way Connect used to, but it's not working, run Garmin Express from the Start menu. Mine was/is configured to start when I plug in a Garmin device but it just doesn't, so I have to start in manually.
Even when I start it manually and it shows it is aware of my Edge 705 and shows an icon for it, it is being misleading. If it doesn't also show "Connected" under the device name then it's not connected. How you are supposed to know to look for that indication is not explained anywhere obvious. To connect you have to click the green blob (the tool tip says it's to "scan for devices"). Once it connects then the upload happens automatically. My data then shows up in Connect Modern, rather than the bogus "no activities to sync" message I was getting before.
Mine connects automatically but fails to complete the upload. It has always connected automatically and worked (most of the time) prior to the update. I have an open query with Garmin support but have only got the automated response. For kicks, I tried to upload again today but Garmin Connect locked up. I also tried to open the Dashboard but that failed also.
The TCX file is just a text file - trying to decide if I want to write a little ap to at least grab the text file and format it into Excel with plots and stuff. Garmin - it's just a text file, and not even a large one - can't you grab the data and format it into a webpage like before? This is on your end. Just fix it.
IM currently trying to upload to Garmin Connect and it all works until the actual upload where it spins around and around uploading.. Ive tried 2x computers. A mac and a PC and the same issue....
