Modern Garmin Connect mostly doesn't work in both Firefox and Chrome

On my home PC (Vista), I am having issues with both Firefox and Chrome. I can't seem to get GC working on either browsers.

On Chrome, I get the dashboard with the widgets of, say, sleep, steps, activities, etc. However, I am unable to get the full view of sleep or steps whether I select from the side bar or from the widget. And those are exactly the two views that show the information from my new vivofit.

On Firefox, I get no data. When I log in, I get a blue background with the left side bar. I cannot get any of the sidebar menus to show, however, or select anything. I've cleared cache, cookies on both browsers, with no difference in results.

Works in Chrome on my Mac. No joy on Firefox.
  • Nope, it doesn't work on my MacOS 10.9.3 and Safari 7.0.4
  • I am Win7 and Firefox, having same problem with the "modern" interface after switching - blank blue screen with non-functioning buttons/links.... It's very frustrating! Is there a way to switch back to the old version?
  • Modern Garmin Connect not working in Safari

This has happened before, but I don't know what fixed it.

Suddenly a couple of days ago, Garmin connect Modern is not working in Safari. If I sign in, all I see is a blank blue page with the header and icons on the side, but no active links, no dashboard or activity info.

I finally figured out how to switch to the old look and that works. Also, it seems to come up just fine in Chrome. I've emptied my cache & restarted Safari, but that didn't make any difference. How can I fix this?
  • It is a security issue related to Trust-e, Appears to have been triggered by something in the last release. Spent time with TS on phone to no avail. I played with my security settings and Trust-e and now works well in Firefox. I will try to go back an let you know what I changed.

Me too - In the dark (blue), what's going on?
  • Are you using browser extensions for privacy (Disconnect, Ghostery, AdBlock)? If so, try disabling them all temporarily and see if that resolves your problem.

Extensions aren't the problem, neither is blocking third party cookies. Modern UI just doesn't load anything but blue background and the four menu buttons on the left. It works with IE, but it's gonna be a cold day in hell before I start using IE for anything regular.
Both Chrome and Firefox fail to load modern for me.

If one happens to have this problem, I suggest using IE to change back to classic interface.

I was having the same problem with modern UI, and for me it was related to ghostery. I just whitelisted the garmin site in ghostery and reloading the page the widgets re-appeared.
  • On a Mac OS X 10.9 Worked in Firefox but not in Safari not Chrome. Tried Thebruces69 suggestion in Safari. Whitelisted Garmin Connect and it loaded and worked as it should. I was able to get it to work in Chrome by using an Incognito Window. Will whitelist in Ghostly and see if that solves the problem.
