Switched to Garmin Express from Ant Agent - now can't upload anything from watch

The other day I downloaded Garmin Express and switched to using that instead of Ant Agent - I am using a Mac.

Even though I can connect to my Forerunner 620 fine, and I could install the required updates fine, I simply can't upload anything to Garmin Connect.

So for example today I did a race, the file is sat on my watch and I can view it on the watch itself (it's not corrupted) but I can't get it to upload to GC. Garmin Express does the Sync and then gives me the notification saying "Sync complete! View data at Garmin Connect" but on GC there is nothing there. In fact there is none of my training runs since moving from Ant Agent to Express.

The weird thing is that if I do a manual upload, it connects to my watch and lists the activities where I can choose which ones I want to upload, but nothing is listed from the date of switching to Express. Even though I can look on the watch and see the activity there, the manual upload doesn't list it.

I can't find the TCX file on my Mac either (Library/Application Support/Devices/Device/History) - although every file up until I switched is there.

SO............. what is going on? Where are my files being sent to? Any ideas?

Is it an Edge 500 that you have or a watch? Do you know what version of Garmin Express that you have? You can check by clicking the gear in the upper right, the latest is 3.1.8.

It is an Edge 500. Version is 3.1.7.0 although last time I checked said version was up to date. Will try update to 3.1.8

Upgraded to 3.1.8 but still getting error syncing to Garmin Connect. Software for the Edge 500 was also updated around same time that Garmin Express was installed. Upload is also hanging when using Garmin Communicator with Endomondo so the problem may be with the Communicator.

I have a 610. Since the release of Garmin Express I too haven't been able to upload or sync my watch. I have had numerous replies from Garmin support with regards to this issue to no avail. I have since uni-stalled Express and reinstalled Ant Agent which works fine. I'm waiting to hear from Garmin again with this issue. Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem

I use a 910 with my Ant+ and everything WAS fine and then downloaded Garmin Express. It performed as it should and downloaded to Garmin Connect. ONE PROBLEM THOUGH, i cannot get files to download to Garmin Training Center. I need files downloaded to TC so I can get them into TrainingPeaks for my coach to review. I deleted Garmin Express. re-booted the computer and deleted the files from Garmin Connect - so everything would be as though nothing had been done. Only problem is that now my ant+ just searches and cannot find my 910. What the heck is going on? This really reeks!

Use this to sync between GC and TP - https://tapiriik.com/#

You don't need GTC to send files to TP, especially as GE is only saving .fit files, and .fit files will not - if I remember correctly - import into GTC.

Do understand, it's not for Garmin to sort out how files are transferred to 3rd party sites, it's for those sites to work out how to manage the changes Garmin makes. I do not work for Garmin, or have any association with Garmin.

Success in using Garmin Express with 910XT to upload/download to/from Garmin Connect, events/workouts FINALLY.
Mac OSX environment.
unplugged ant+ stick.
removed ant+ application (searched for ant+ in finder and moved to recycle bin the application + one file associated and found by finder search for ant+)
loaded Garmin Express fresh install.
reinstalled ant+ stick in usb slot. From what i believe, the ant+ stick is required to communicate from computer to watch and vice versa; however with garmin express the ant+ app is no longer used.
Garmin Express found an association to my 910xt and tried to upload events that were not on the watch...and failed...and garmin express quit unexpectedly...
I reopened Garmin Express. I deleted the 910xt from Garmin Express.
I re-added the 910xt through new auto discovery.
Now it uploads events and also downloaded to the watch a workout plan!

I have been having similar issues with 910 XT. When having ANT active won't sync with new connect. but when use old version ANT connects fine. It also will no longer synch direct with my Strava I have o manually upload file which I don't want to have to do everyday for every activity. not happy with new Connect.

Make sure you QUIT from the Garmin ANT before trying to sync. doesn't work if have both ANT and Express open.

I have switched to Garmin Express and now I cant see my Dashboard, how do I switch back to the old Garmin connect?
