AllVehicles.zip

Firstly: I know this post doesn't belong here :)

I'm hoping someone can confirm (or deny) something for me.

Garmin makes a package containing Vehicle symbols for nuvi's available at

http://www8.garmin.com/vehicles/m/srf/allVehicles.zip

Now I have downloaded that file on 3 different PC's using multiple browsers and the file I get is always 25,858,543 bytes. When I try and extract the files I get errors using WinZip and 7-Zip.

I think the ZIP file is corrupt (truncated). I emailed Garmin's webmaster to let them know but they swear there's nothing wrong with the file.

PS: I have all the Vehicle files. I don't need to know how to get or install them. I'm just trying to establish if the problem is at my end (???) or if the file on Garmin's server(s) is corrupt.

    You're right ... it doesn't belong here, it's why we need a nuvi forum :)

    You're also right about the file ... I can't extract the ones you get errors on either :D

    Can't confirm... The file extracts without problems over here; I got 136 srf files.
    (they're in the trash already; I'll stick to the default blue trangle)

    There should be 140 of them (4 columns x 35 rows).

    Seems like some servers have a good file while others don't.

    PS: Exact (bytes) file size info of the allVehicles.zip file would be helpful :p

    I've never bothered before, I just have one icon loaded :p

    Well for some context I download that file from time to time to see if there's a new Vehicle icon I might like. (I have the Blue Sports car icon which is close to my actual vehicle--including being blue)

    The last time I did that was in Feb 2012 and that file had 138 srf files in it (I had it saved on DVD). The only new vehicles are Marge and Homer so I just got those two and added them to my existing ZIP.

    Me too ... although I've just replaced my blue car but kept the same icon as I'm used to it now :)

    You're right. There's only 136 on that page. I miscounted. That said I'm comparing the file I have (which contains 140 .srf files) and Garmin's list. Garmin has both added and deleted some. Sorting all that out now...

    Ok these are the files that used to be included but no longer are.

    dora-trike.srf
    dora-walk.srf
    feltbicycle.srf
    rv.srf
    spongebob-boat.srf
    spongebob-walk.srf


    Files Garmin added (that didn't have before)

    tailgater.srf


    Thus I have 142 vehicle icons total :)

    Same as SUSSAMB and I. So what program/version did you use to unzip?
