Garmin Fit iPhone app won't connect to GarminConnect

Just downloaded the Garmin Fit App on my iPhone. It won't let me log on to Garmin Connect, saying my username/email password is incorrect. Although it works fine to log onto the website!

Only reason for downloading was to be able to view Connect easily on the iPhone.

Anybody else had same issue or offer solution to login in correctly?

Thanks
  • Thanks DC, will wait for the update. Apparently, it is showing me distance in KM now, but the laps and charts are not present. Still good enough to show the distance. :)

The current plan is an update Thurs/Fri for this...fyi.

In the meantime, here's the workaround:

"If a Connect user has Settings on the website set to display distance as meters, then this will happen. So a temporary workaround for users until we can get a fix pushed out (which is looking like Thursday or Friday) is to change their Settings in Connect to display Statute. After that, it will take 10-15 minutes and a manual refresh of the history list (pull down the list in iPhone and menu option on Android) to fix the issues."
  • I can't find a Forum for the Garmin Fit app either, so I'll post it here. These are my complaints or places for improvement so far:

    1) It doesn't always upload the activity to Garmin Connect. Strangely every once in awhile it syncs and brings Connect activity down to the phone, but still doesn't upload the missing activities that are on the phone, but not yet on Connect. How in the world do you force them to upload?

    2) I'd like to see the ability to add more data choices to the main screen or at least be able to choose which data field to display. They chose instant pace to display on the first screen, which is a waste because it's too jumpy and delayed to be of any use. This isn't unique to this app and instant pace is a waste of time on most apps and even GPS watches. Instead I'd love to be able to swap that out with lap pace or average pace, which is much more reliable. After you complete your first lap you do get an additional screen showing "avg pace" but I think they mean avg pace on the current lap. They should re-label that as "lap pace." It's also strange that you only get this added screen after you have completed one lap. You almost would rather just hit the lap button 1 second into your run just to get the added screen...kind of klunky.

    3) I have a Motorola Photon, which is already known for excellent signal and GPS, but Garmin Fit in my tests seems to overstate my distance compared to Endomondo and Runkeeper, which are always close to my car/pedometer/web-mapping.

I have the same problem. The app just didnt upload my last running activity. A few minutes later i tried to add another activity, and that one was uploaded. I usually use my garmin watch to record the activities, but sometimes (when i forget to recharge the battery) i also use garmin fit iphone app.

    My questions:
    - how to "force" transfer/upload the data into the connect garmin.com? We need this feature, as from 3 activities, one was not uploaded... (i was abroad, and didn't data roam, therefore immediate upload was not possible). Obviously upload feature is unreliable...

    - and how to manipulate (delete for example) activities on the phone? For testing purpose i created a test activity, which upload correctly onto the garmin connect website. I deleted it on the internet, however, i cannot find an option to delete it my phone.

EDIT: hmmmm... after a few hours activity showed on the web... strange...
  • Similar issue - but got it to upload

I had the same issue today, for the first time. My run recorded well, I saved it, and all looked good on the phone (iphone). It never showed up on the site, though. I read some posts like this and tried a few desparate things (looked for the raw data on the iphone via PC - then remembered pretty much everything is hidden from you, then I tried to just upload via gconnect and was surprised it saw the iphone.. gave it a shot.. nothing). Finally after reading some stuff I decided to try forcing it by going to the history page in the app and sliding down to force it to refresh. It made sense this would download, and I figured maybe there was a chance it would upload then too. Worked!
