Lifetime updater indicates I have the most recent map installed - I don't

Greetings

I recently purchased at 3790lmt. It has 2011.10 installed. I went to my.garmin.com and registered the gps - clicked on update avail which installed the lifetime map updater - this is where my problem started. The updater claims I have the most recent map. My.garmin.com shows that 2011.10 is installed. The most current version is 2012.20 but the lifetime updater thinks I'm at the most current version

I tried the standalone updater ( garmin map update) which eventually brought me to a product key page. This is a Lmt dvice and I dont have a product key.

I contacted garmin support and they advised me to remove files I don't need from the pictures, voice, text and help folders. I did but still can't download - same issue

Thought I would try this forum before I return the unit to Costco

I have the same issue with my Garmin purchase and the Zumo on my bike. I don't think we'll ever get our answers here Dean. Chalk it up to a lesson learned and head back to Costco.
I have been let down here so much I think this will be my last visit, and I know of something else thats next to leave my inventory.

Sorry Garmin, you are not the same company you where in 2007, that BEING a company that supported your user base, got involved, trended issues and corrected them in a timely manner.
