I tryed to update my BMW Nav. 4 (Zumo 660) today and something went very wrong. When I turn it on now, all I get is this message: "System software missing". And the unit can`t connect to my PC with USB cable any longer. So, I can`t do anything with it and I am desperate for help, since I and my motorbike are leaving for an 4 weeks Europe tour tomorrow. Please, is there someone who can help me fix this problem, since Garmin support are closed for the week-end.
While attempting to download an update via web updater I mistakenly disconnected my zumo 660 before the update completed. Now all i have is a screen with "system software missing". Is there a fix for this?:
can't reset, just gives me that lame "system software missing" when on. Of course (like all others) Webupdater doesn't see the unit (and it wasn't until I did the update that this happened).
Any help, hints greatly appreciated (been trying to find some solution all day....of course no tech support from Garmin on weekends...when you need it).
Hi
Seems i have got the same problem loaded V4.4 software yesterday now screen says SYSTEM SOFTWARE MISSING. Tried to connect to the computer but nothing found??? Can any one help i am in Thailand for a few weeks Motorcycling, just typical and Christmas:mad::mad:
I'm a little puzzled that there are so many asking for a "fix", yet no one has replied with one?
Can anyone elaborate on the repair? Do I need to send this thing in?
I'm leaving Monday on my way to Florida, and it would really be nice to have my New GPS work! LOL!
I have same problem too. Updated my Zumo 660 last week and 'system software missing'.
E-mailed for support and been forwarded to Garmin Asia.
Sent my unit to Kuala Lumpur dealer as instructed, and was told need to send to factory and delivery charge is USD270.
I read here that Garmin can send files to repair the unit but my local dealer need to send to factory.
If this the case, it's true what few of my friends told me "if this message appears, the unit is as good as a brick" because they've thrown the units which were costly to repair.
