I have contatacted Garmin support as well and they do everything they can to dismiss you. ask for explanation, then screenshot, then a video, while they also send you the manual for how to create segments…
I raised a ticket for this issue on January 28. I never got a response,
It's important to me as I am not renewing my Strava sub and I want a way to be able to compare runs on the same route (the only feature I find useful on Strava that I will miss) The only way I can see to get this on Garmin is to create a segment of the whole activity.
Same issue. Garmin doesn't seem to care about this.
I can confirm this behaviour. I'll also report it to Garmin Support to see if that will help them prioritize a fix.
Is it possible the Garmin does not solve such an important thing????!!!!

seilogramp: Unable to create and edit segments in Garmin Connect. I already opened a ticket on this around the end of January but have not heard anything back. Just want to verify that my case is still open and the engineers are actively working towards a resolution.

Garmin support responded to my ticket from January 28 and I went through the process of videoing the issue and giving the info they needed, I also sent them a link to this thread. Hopefully their system allows them to relate all these tickets so they can see it is a systematic issue that needs to have its Priority raised. I recommend everyone raise a ticket so they get the picture that it's a wide reaching issue.
