Deleting Goals

Most web applications have a release schedule. We are no different. Mid-March is the scheduled time for the next release.

Yes, when we first launched Goals there was no plan to add Delete/Edit functions. It wasn't until after a few customers asked for the ability that we added the capability. Not poor planning, it wasn't believed to be important at the time we rolled out the feature.

Yes, the feature is working for other users;in fact, it sounds like you have the restored features. On my home computer, away from the company proxy, I can edit and delete Goals. As can others both at Garmin and elsewhere.

If the Delete/Edit function disappears again trust that it will be completely resolved mid-March.

Thanks for the update. My delete/edit functions are indeed gone again since this morning. I checked it a few times during the day and it was working fine until late this afternoon. So strange that it works for awhile and then it's gone again on the same computer with the same browser and nothing changed. At least I was able to delete the ones I didn't want :)

I entered a whole bunch of goals, and deleted and editted some until I was happy with the goals I had created. This was on the 12th. Yesterday (13th), I then decided to move all my goals forward a week. But now the user interface does not allow me to edit or delete any of my goals. I hadn't used the computer since creating them, I have tried another computer and tried flushing the cache and using both IE and Firefox.

The documentation on the goal page still suggests it should be possible to edit or delete goals, and the FAQ agrees, so can I assume this is a bug, or have Garmin decided to remove the feature again? When will it be back again? I have wasted ages getting all the goals set up and now I can't tailor them as I go along.

I am person number 1,000,000 to report this problem over the last 5 months.

Same thing going on for me.. All OS's, all browsers.

Just got the 410 3 weeks ago...

What gets me mad is I didn't even make a mistake. I had set one week goal to run 20 miles. I finished the goal.

Today I was creating another goal to run 25 miles for next week. Well because of another bug in the software even though I am creating the goal at night it is giving me credit for the 6 mile run I did this morning in next weeks goal.

So I figured I would just delete that goal and have the next one start tomorrow. But there is no way to delete a goal... I cannot even edit the goal to just add 6 miles to it as a work around.

I am a software developer and if it took me 5 months (plus) to fix something so simple I would have been fired many years ago.

Is there any workaround I can use aside from just not using the goals function this week?

1 Year has elapsed since promised fix???

I really enjoy the Garmin Connect website and my new Garmin 210 and use it religiously. In reading the old posts I see this has been an issue for over a year now. According to kk this was supposed to have been remedied in mid-March of 2010. I still am unable to edit or delete goals as of March 2011.

I enjoy seeing the goals turn from green to gold when I've met them and it is a motivating feature of this website. True it probably is more of an annoyance than anything but it would be nice if we were able to edit and delete both active and future goals as well as being able to post-date them.

I decided to create a new weekly goal midway through the week and am unable to post-date a goal so that it includes runs that I've already completed. If this is to ever be fixed could they take into account that people make mistakes sometimes when creating goals and being able to edit them is an important feature. At least to me. Thanks

Agree, seems I have to run 1000km this week :S Wanted to set a goal for this year actually, but that seems not to be possible, now I can't even delete this entry.

Still not working to delete goal...

Got my Garmin 210, first biking test this morning and set a goal.
Apparently was setting it wrongly and wanted to delete it but there is no option for deleting not for editing.

HELP REQUIRED HERE!

Seriously?!?

I see this has been going on for awhile - are we really dealing with a company that ignores it's users? Add me to the list of those who would like a delete button for their goals.

I am very disappointed with Garmin and my purchase. I purchased the unit for what it offers - and in truth, nothing it offers is overly great. The goals is 1 example and, for me what began the snowball. Really? Its been going on this long and has not been fixed.

My CatEye did not do much, but everything it did it did well, My 705 does a lot but nothing well.
