Manual Upload in GarminConnect

I am getting error messages while i am trying to upload the .gpx or .tcx files Manually.

Error messages are "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again." or "Some activities could not be created."

Can you please advise what to do? Is there another file extension which needs to be used while uploading.

Thanks

The last trackpoint had a distance value of zero (which is incorrect). I removed this bad trackpoint and now it will upload. I'm attaching the fixed version.

    Help needed with uploading file

    Hi!

I've also had some problem uploading file(s). I'm quite new at this so I can't say I know all the tricks to uploading files. Can anyone take a look at the file and see if there's anything wrong. I can't upload the file to garmin connect and I don't really see why that is. I've uploaded several activities earlier with no problems but this one seems to be stuck at a hurdle of some sorts.

    Help appreciated!
  • GC manual upload is useless

I am also having problems with GC manual upload. I have been trying to upload my files so many times I have lost the count, but I always get the error message "error occurred during the upload...". The files I am trying to upload are exported from GTC.

I have checked the contents of the .tcx files and they are formally correct xml.
I have checked that the device name is not missing from the files.
I have replaced all zero values I have found from the distance-meters fields with something else.
I have added the altitude-meters information where it was zero.

    Any other tips?

I removed some bad trackpoints from the end of the file (I have no idea why the Forerunner wrote out these bad trackpints and I don't know how to prevent this from happening in the future). I'm attaching the fixed file.

I would suggest removing the trackpoints with zero values for distance-meter fields (rather than replacing the values with something else).

  • Actually I tried that too, but the result was the same.

Most of the times when I have tried the manual upload the data files have been quite big, containing three months of training data. I have tried the upload using smaller files only a couple of times. Maybe I will now concentrate my efforts to using smaller files.

This seems to be the place to get tcx files fixed. I also have one that is not loading. I opened it up in notepad but it looks like greek to me. The only thing I notice is that when I enable word wrap in notepad the top half of the file has many line breaks while the bottom has none.

I then opened a file that I know works it seemed to have no line breaks, I tried to delete the line breaks but it didn't seem to work. I am attaching the unmodified file.

Any guidance on how, if at all, this file is fixed would be great as then I wouldn't have to trouble you nice people again.

    Thanks,
    Kevin
